2024 | Library Hosts Summer Reading Program
Get ready and pack you bags – we’re going to travel around the world!
What? The Langford Public Library is hosting a summer reading program with the theme of “Adventure Beings at Your Library”. For eight weeks, they will be exploring around the world and visiting a different continent weekly. After each continent visit, the kids will be given a sticker to put on their passports and also an iron-on badge for their banners. Each child will be allowed to take their banners home at the end of the program.
When? The program will be hosted every Tuesday from 9:45AM-10:45AM, with the exception of June 18th due to the School Board Election being held at the Community Center. The program will end on July 30th with an awards celebration, ice cream sundaes, and a showing of the movie “Around the World in 80 Days”.
Registration? Registration was held on June 4th from 8AM-5PM, but please note registration is NOT required! If you were not able to make registration, please give the librarian, Nicole, a call at 605-493-6690 and she will assist with getting you signed up. Reading logs can be picked up on registration day or any time during business hours. Each child that registers for the summer reading program will receive a registration kit that includes the following – a sinch bag, compass, globe squish ball, passport, stickers, banner, and badges.
