2024 | Library Receives Grant

The Langford Public Library was recently awarded $1,500.00 from the Stephanie Miller-Davis grant. This grant program works to promote early childhood literacy in rural South Dakota communities. The funds for this grant are generated by a private SD family, the South Dakota State Library, and the South Dakota Community Foundation.

The Langford Library is hosting a summer reading program called “Adventure Begins at Your Library” and they will be using the grant funds to purchase multiple items for the summer reading program. A list of tentative purchases is below.

  1. Registration Kits. All kids that register for the summer reading program will receive a registration kit that includes the following – a sinch bag, compass, globe squish ball, passport, stickers, banner, and badges.
  2. Craft Supplies.
  3. Books. Over 20 new books have been purchased for the library! To view a listing of other new books at the library, visit their website: https://langfordsd.com/library/#newbooks
