2025 | Langford Alum Joe Aldentaler Retires from SD Army National Guard

🎖️ Retirement Recognition 🎖️

After more than 23 years of service, Sgt. 1st Class Joe Aldentaler retires from the South Dakota Army National Guard, closing a career defined by leadership, versatility, and dedication to Soldiers.

Enlisting in 2001 with the 740th Transportation Company, Aldentaler deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and went on to serve in a wide range of roles—including training NCO, recruiter, readiness NCO, platoon sergeant, and staff operations NCO. He earned three MOSs and consistently stepped forward to support the mission wherever needed.

Most recently at Joint Force Headquarters G3, SFC Aldentaler managed the schools program and helped support more than 3,000 Soldiers with professional military education—contributing to South Dakota ranking No. 1 in the nation for duty MOS-qualified Soldiers.
