2025 | Sump Pump Inspections

🚨 PUBLIC NOTICE: SUMP PUMP INSPECTIONS 🚨

Due to the sewer system being overwhelmed, the Town Maintenance Department will be looking for properties for illegal sump pump discharges per Ordinance § 51.09. It is unlawful to discharge stormwater, groundwater, or sump pump water into the sanitary sewer system between April 1st and October 31st—violators face a minimum $50 fine and possible water shutoff. Staff are authorized to enter properties at reasonable hours. Refusal of entry is a violation and will result in disconnection of utility services. Please ensure your system is compliant. This is about protecting our infrastructure—and your neighbors.

Please direct any questions to Sean (605-470-0365) or Mitchell (605-924-1465).

2025 | URGENT: Refrain Water Usage

‼️URGENT NOTICE TO LANGFORD RESIDENTS‼️

⚠️Due to the amount of rain we continue to receive, our sewer system is not able to keep up. To help relieve stress from our sewer system, PLEASE keep water usage at the MINIMAL amount. (Ex: flushing toilets, showering, washing dishes, running your washing machine, etc.)

⚠️And, most importantly, DO NOT pump your sump pumps into the sewer system!

THANK YOU!
